The Dragon's Breath Returns

from £145.00

Image ref VH24024

Once or twice a year there is a spectacular kind of cloud inversion where the descending cold air falling from the surrounding mountains meets the warmer waters of the estuary resulting in a spectacular river of mist that can appear to flow all the way down the Mawddach Estuary, from Dolgellau to Fairbourne and out to sea. This shot was captured at around 9am on a magnificent morning in January 2024. The mist, known locally as “The Dragon’s Breath” can bee seen engulfing the far end of Barmouth Railway Bridge. Meanwhile the sun is just about to peek over the Cadair Idris range in the background.

This is a fine art giclée (inkjet) print, printed on an acid-free 100% cotton rag fine art paper.

The image ratio is 3 x 2 and we only offer this in one size : D (please check size before you order)
